Make It Monday #200

Hello once again.

I have a card for you tonight that I made for the PapertreyInk Make It Monday Challenge #200. You were to use their wonderful cover plates to create a card. Well, unfortunately, I do not own any of their cover plates, yet! But, after watching the video I thought that maybe I could achieve a similar effect using the Text Block dies which are much the same only somewhat smaller.

So, here goes.

I started with a card base from my stash from Crafter's Companion. I used the Text Block - Birthday die, cut it out twice, once from a creamy cardstock and once from black. Layered them on top of each other, just to the left side and then added that to the card. I hope that you can just see the edge of the black layer looking like a shadow. I put a piece of black sparkly ribbon down the left side and added a few gems. Kept things really clean and crisp looking so the die took center stage.

I hope you can see from this photo how nice and sparkly this ribbon is. It just adds a touch of something without being too much.

Thanks ever so much for stopping by. Hope you have a great evening. Cheers.

  1. Your text block is a perfect choice! Looks great with the 'shadow' behind the words! And what a great bg!

  2. Love the shadow behind your text block. It looks fabulous!

  3. This is great. I thought of using Text Box also. I think it works perfectly.

  4. I've been using that die this week to make some birthday cards. It didn't occur to me to layer them! Nice job.

  5. The text block looks great with its shadow!

  6. Lovely shadow effect with the text!
