Ink To Paper Organization Challenge - Cardstock

Hello everyone....

Playing along with Ink to Paper and their organization challenge. Today it is all about storing cardstock and I suppose pattern paper also falls into that category.

I keep my cardstock on a shelf inside a Billy bookcase from IKEA. I can easily see the colours on the shelf to select what I want.

Pattern paper I store in two ways. The larger 12x12 sheets are stored in these plastic bins from Michaels and I have them loosely sorted by colour.

The smaller pads of paper I keep in the top of this cart where I can easily go through them to find what I want.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hoping you have a wonderful day. Cheers....

Ink To Paper Organization Challenge - Die Storage

Hello everyone....

Ink To Paper had a great blog post today which is in conjunction with their organization challenge. Today's post was all about die storage.

For myself, I favour the method I first saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog which is the use of Stamp Pockets. I have been using this method for some time now and I really love it.

Here is a photo of the bins that hold my Papertrey Ink/Ink to Paper dies.

Thanks for stopping by. Cheers....

Gina K Designs December 2019 Challenge

Hello everyone....

I am playing along with the Gina K Designs December 2019 challenge which is to create any sort of tag using stamps by Gina K.

I have used two stamp sets, oldies but goodies in my opinion.

The pale little hearts you can see on the background are from Nana's Needlework and the focal image of the tulips is from one of my all time favourites by Gina K called Stenciled Spring.

I have used a small piece of silk ribbon from my stash to make a dainty little bow for the top.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day. Cheers.

Laurie's Favorites #4

Hello and welcome...

Laurie's Favorite challenge over at Papertrey Ink is to use one of their dies to make a gift container.

I have chosen to use the matchbox dies from All Through The House.

I have used a dark green cardstock for the inside of the box and a bright green polka dot for the wrap and topped it in white. Added an interesting green ribbon and some fabric flowers to finish off.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day. Cheers...

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites #4

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog....

My card today is for Laurie's challenge at Papertrey Ink to use our favourite type of embellishment. Mine are both their felt and their buttons and I have used both on my card.

I have used Corner Adorner: February stamps and dies, Berry Wreath Tag and Big Basics: Wish Big for my card.

I have used the Corner Adorner die to cut out the felt flowers from Lemon Tart and Berry Sorbet for the corners and topped them with a Ripe Avocado button.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Would love you to leave me your comments. Have a wonderful day.
Cheers...

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites #3

Hello and welcome...

I am playing along with Papertrey Ink today for Laurie's challenge to use a stand alone die on a card.

I have actually used three of them, Bold Borders: Yuletide,  Tag Sale Quilted die and Big Basics: Winter Wishes.

I wanted a very soft look so chose to use chalks in two shades of greens. It turned out exactly as I had hoped it would. Layered up the dies, added an organdy bow at the top and a few pearls and all done.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a terrific day. Cheers.

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites #2

Hello everyone and welcome....

Alas, I am still sick. I have a card for this Papertrey Ink challenge but it is simplicity itself as that is all that my germ filled head could come up with.
The challenge was to use our favourite colour of card stock. Well...mine is white. I love using white and I love monochromatic cards. So here it is. I have used the Bold Borders: Flurries die and that is it.  It seems appropriate as the snow is at least 3 feet deep here where I live and let us not forget that it is never too early to start on Christmas cards.

Cut everything from white card stock and just layered it up. Now I can take a couple aspirin and go and lie down again.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day. Cheers.

Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Challenge #1

Hello everyone and welcome...

I know it has been a while since I posted a card but, alas, I have been sick, sick, sick. Suffering from a wicked head and chest cold that has left me feeling weak as a piece of boiled string.

I have a card to share for Laurie's Challenge to use a favourite stamp set. I have used one of my most favourite sets....Love Lives Here. I go to this stamp set over and over again. I just love it.

This card is an anniversary card for dear friends of mine who live in a wonderful log home in the country that the hubby built with his own two very skilled hands. I have tried to sort of recreate that feeling with my little birdhouse.

I have placed my little birdhouse on the Berry Wreath Tag die and backed that with a Spellbinders scalloped die. The branch from which the birdhouse is hanging is from another favourite set, Spring Woods. The sentiment is also from Love Lives Here, stamped on a die cut with Banner Sentiments.

They are a non-fussy kind of couple but I felt that even though I have kept the card very simple it needed something and that was a lovely piece of silk ribbon in a bow. I do love ribbon!

That is it from me for today. Where I live they are predicting 40 cm of snow tonight (that is 16" for those of you who do not use metric) so we are battening down the hatches to prepare for it. I think it is time to crawl back into my jammies and relax with a hot cup of tea and a good book...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day. Cheers.

January 2019 Blog Hop & MIM #348

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog....

I have a card to share today. I originally made it for the Papertrey Ink January 2019 Blog Hop, the photo inspiration shown below, but realized after it was finished that it would also work for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge #348 Lotsa Letters.

I found this to be a challenge indeed as I am not drawn to very graphic designs so I chose to simply work with the colours in the photo, namely black, white and soft pink.

I have used one of my very favourite stamp sets, Nostalgic Notions for the lovely little blossoms and leaves. Birthday Cheer die and stamp set and Thread Cards provided the sentiment and the balloons are from Birthday Balloons

I rummaged in my stash of gorgeous silk ribbon scraps and found the perfect piece just long enough to tie this pretty little bow. A couple of sequins for balance and all done.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave me your comments.

Have a wonderful day.  Cheers.

Simon Says Stamp Card and Envelope Challenge

Hello everyone...

I am just sneaking in under the wire with a card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is to create a card and matching envelope.

I have used an adorable kitty stamp set from Sunny Studios. Just love those little cats! The card is large at 4 1/2  by 9 inches so I custom made the envelope using the We R Memory Keepers Punch board.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful day. Cheers.

Papertrey Ink MIM #347

Hello and welcome...

My card today is for Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #347 in which Ashley challenged us to create a winter wonderland in watercolour. Here is her wonderful card.

After looking through ALL my Papertrey Ink stamps I came to the realization that other than obvious Christmas trees....I do not own a tree stamp. So, I improvised.

I created the watercolour background and then used Peaceful Pinecones for my image which I then adorned with a dusting of snow using white paint. The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #8. And to finish off I flecked on some white paint for a mini snowstorm all over the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking to time to leave me your comments...it means the world to me. Have a great day. Cheers.

MFT Sketch Challenge #419

Welcome everyone...

My card today is for MFT Sketch challenge which you can see here.

I have used the MFT Pure Innocence Ice Skater and made a twirly card. I am sure that this kind of card has a proper name but I do not know it so I just call them twirly cards. You wind the image around and around about a million times and it twirls like mad when opened. Seemed very appropriate for the cute little ice skater.

I have used a Lawn Fawn sentiment die at the bottom as I needed something quite small for the space.
The blossoms around the focal image are from Spellbinders.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. Have a wonderful day. Cheers.

Newtons Nook Color Challenge #88

Hello and welcome to my blog...

My card today is the for Newton's Nook Color Challenge #88 which you can see here. This is the link...Here

First off, this colour palette is outside my normal comfort zone so I did struggle a bit with it.
I chose to use the adorable set Newton Loves Cake to make a birthday card. All the required colours are present and correct. I have used a Papertrey Ink die for the large Birthday at the top.
If you follow my blog you will know how much I love ribbon so I dug into my stash of wee pieces of silk to tie up a little bow for the top of the tag and topped it with a blue button.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by. Hope you have a wonderful day. Cheers.

Papertrey Ink MIM A la Carte #346

Hello and welcome...

I have chosen to use Lizzie's card for MIM #316 as my inspiration which is stenciling on the edges of the card.  Here is the photo of her beautiful card.

For my card I have used the Papertrey Ink small polka dot stencil. The die cut sentiment in the middle is from Birthday Cheer and it sits on the Tag Sale Quilted die cut.

All the blossoms are from Bloomin Cute. I have used the Birthday Cheers stamp set for the sentiment inside the card as well.

I have a confession...I am a bit of a ribbon hoarder and I keep every little bit that I find. This bow is made up from several small pieces of lovely silk ribbon that perfectly matched the colours of the card, finished off with a little yellow button.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day. Cheers.
