Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #302

Hello everyone and welcome...

I have a card to share that I made for Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink, the theme of which is to use twine and ribbon in a new and interesting way.

They call these challenges for a reason I have found. I had to think long and hard about this one. I did not want to just copy what had already been done so it took me a while to come up with something.

I have chosen to use, once again, one of my favourite stamp sets...Love Lives Here Holiday, along with a sprinkling of Holiday Greens.

A basic A2 soft blue/green card base on which I have added a bit of pattern paper. Instead of ribbon I have chosen to use lace which I have just layered along the bottom.

I cut out a heart shape (well, actually 3 of them) and ran it through a Swiss Dot embossing folder. I then used a small hole punch and went all around. Through this I threaded my twine and tied a bow.

The focal image is that wonderful angel. I just love it.

I have gone all around the outer edge of the card with the teeny tiny little hearts from the same stamp set in a rhubarb ink along with the sentiment at the bottom.

Tucked in behind the heart are a few springs of greenery from Holiday Greens.

Thanks so very much for stopping by and leaving me your very kind comments. Cheers.

Melanie

  3. Well, you must have had your thinking cap on when you came up with this idea! I thought the heart already had the holes in it...how smart to punch the holes yourself and then thread it! This idea could work with any shaped die. Your card is beautiful!

  5. Cheers, Melanie, how your fabulous creativity and lovely design! Can’t believe you embossed the heart, punched holes and then wove the twine through each hole. You really did put on your thinking cap, but it was worth the end result.
